Waiting

So I am 38 weeks now and still waiting for this baby to be ready to come out. My last three dr appointments I have been progressively getting more effaced but still not dilated a bit! In fact at my appointment to day the dr said my cervix is still sealed shut. When is my body going to open up so this baby can come out?!?! At this point I should be measuring at 38 cm, but I am still measuring 36. This could mean the baby isn't growing anymore or that my uterus doesn't need to grow anymore because the baby is working her way down farther into birthing position and doesn't need the extra space. The only way to know for sure is to do an ultrasound. My dr said I can wait another week and if I'm still measuring 36 he will just send us to the hospital and let them start me. That way we can avoid an ultrasound. But if I feel like we need to go ahead and come in earlier he will do an ultrasound to make sure everything is ok. But he seemed to not be worried since she is moving good still. If she stops moving so much then he wants us to come on in before next Monday. So again just a waiting game from her on out. At least for another week. He did say that he would start us anytime I want now so maybe we will go ahead and have them start me on Monday regardless. We will see what happens.
